Use wind power to dry your clothes and cut your energy bill

There are many simple things you can do to cut energy bills.  Using efficient light bulbs or adding a programmable  thermostat are just two of the simple things you can do to make a big impact on your bill.

Other things that get frequently overlooked is unplugging any unused electronic such as that t.v. or DVD player in the basement that you only use once a year.

You may not realize it but todays electronics are always on ’stand-by’ and drawing electricity even if they’re turned off.  That can really add up.

Hiring a professional to come into your house and do an energy audit is another way for you to find where the weak spots in your home are.

Although you can do this yourself and for free.  Just carefully look around your house, are there cracks or gaps in your foundation, windows, walls?  If so take steps to repair them.

Do you have enough insulation in your attic?  If you’re not sure just ask someone at your local hardware store what  ‘R’ value you should have.  If you don’t have enough, add some insulation.

One of the best things you can do if you want to save money is to invest in something that can generate electricity for you…for free.

Using the power of the wind with a wind turbine is one of these things.  You can build your own for less that $300 and it can be done if just a day or so yet the savings on your electric bill can be dramatic- up to 80% off!

I hope these tips on how to cut energy bills have helped you.  Most of these things are very easy to do yet they can save you a lot of money, this year and for many years to come.
