So you have all this information on how much you can eat and how much you need to incorporate exercise into your life. Does that encompass all of you? Is that really all it takes? I chuckle when I write that because I know that so much of our society likes to put everything into cute little categories.
Do my previous Factoidz take the following into consideration?
- Are you someone who uses food emotionally and at times you feel like food is all you have?
- Do you suffer from a medical condition that is the cause of your weight gain or helps keep weight on you?
- Are you a woman or man who had suffered sexual abuse?
- Is it hard for you to rebound from a bad diet and exercise day?
- Are your self-esteem and body image created by the media and others’ idea of perfection?
All of these factors and so much more are the very things that make us INDIVIDUALS! You are a completely unique being who may have an easier or much harder time with all this than anyone you know. People who have suffered abuse are more likely to have issues with food. Certain medications and conditions (emotional and physical) can hinder or work against you. Society and the media are horrible at telling us what our idea of beauty is, and we are suffering because of the abnormally thin famous people who are all the rage. The simple fact that your self-esteem is shot and you feel like every little setback is yet another failure, is enough to send you to the closest fast food place or dare I say ice cream parlor.
I am here to tell you that it is ok to struggle. It is perfectly acceptable to have a bad day and move on. You can do it! Regardless of what anyone says, EVERYBODY is beautiful and you need to find your beauty. EVERY ONE is beautiful, remember that.
Remember that Website www.sparkpeople.com ? There you can find the support, knowledge and education you need to help you reach your goals. I am not pitching the site but offering it as a great tool for you to keep in your arsenal. It’s also FREE–which I personally love.
If you want to go and do it on your own, I commend you! It’s a hard road sometimes but you can do it.
No matter what route you take, know this. You must get to the bottom of your behaviors if you have ANY chance of changing them. You have to be able to find your weaknesses and learn about them in order to overcome them.
