Tamilee Webb (born 1960) is a fitness guru, who is best known for her work on the Buns of Steel and Abs of Steel workout videos of the late 80’s and 90’s which made over 10 million dollars in video sales, as well as several infomercials. Millions of people worldwide are fans of Tamilee Webb’s no-nonsense approach to mind, body, fitness and health that can be achieved within the home. Her energy, exuberance and specially designed proven weight loss workout programs have elevated her work to the top of the Billboard charts.
Tamilee Webb is my personal favorite video aerobics instructor so I decided to try this DVD - Tamilee Webb’s Tighter Assets: Weight Loss (2002). I’ve been doing it every other day and it was hard at first but if you stick with it you will definitely get the hang of it and it will become easier the more times you do it. I have most of the workout videos that Tamilee Webb has made and I find every one of them to be great. This is one of her best DVDs along with the companion piece that you can buy separately called Tamilee Webb’s Tighter Assets: Cardio Blast (2002), which is also very good.
This video is high impact though she does make it easy for low impact people to keep up and follow along. I love the Cardio Blast moves which are just a series of hops and jumps that you can add when you are ready for them. They really kick it into gear.
The first time I used this DVD she really kicked my "you know what" and I was sore for a couple of days but I stuck with it and I still get sore but that is how you know it is working. So far I have lost 40 pounds with Tamilee’s help. I am a firm believer in her program. Though you don’t need them at first you may want to consider getting a step and a couple of 5 pound weights somewhere down the road to increase the intensity.
The only con I have found with this DVD is that you really need to work on your core strength which is your abdominal muscles and balance. I am still struggling with that but not everybody will. She does tell you that you can use a chair or something to help you until you get the hang of balancing yourself.
