The first thing that comes to peoples mind when the hear the word exercise is, oh god thats just too much work for me, but it does not have to always be associated with hard work. Lets look at it this way you are trying to relieve stress, so why do something that will or might stress you out even more, so what you need is something that doesnt bring further stress. Lets try listing a few activities that can actually help you relieve a little stress without having to complain about acking muscle afterwards since all you need isto get the blood pumping to clear you head and have time to think about matters other than your daily problems.
A Weekend Routine
• Those with a very busy life style weekends are a good time to meet up with friends and family organise a game could be soccer, tennis, badminton or soccer or better still just a walk round a new site in your area or perhaps a walk to a friends house and a walk back. Thats one simple exercise out of the way and it wont even feel like you where working out.
Sleep
• The importance of sleep can never be over stated, the body needs to recuperate and the mind needs to rest from everything that goes on through the day be it stressfull or just normal daily routin. The ideal amount of sleep should be 8 hours per night but of course others have far much busier lives so you can try to squize in the resting hours over weekends or whenever you get the chance.
Express yourself
• Ever thought it is a little cheezy to keep a diary? i will be the first to admit yes i think it is but when you are going through very stressing times taking note can be a good way to relieve or atleast reduce the stress at those particular moment. It gives you the opportunity to read later, which can be a little fun, you reflect on it and it helps make life easier and helps with problem solving when or should you find yourself in a stressing position again.
Take a walk
• As mentioned on weekend routine unlike jogging, walking gives you an opportunity to take in your surroundings nature can have a healing effect on anyone and the walk should get the blood flowing. The walk gives you time to reflect and unwind with no destructions this is especially important if your work involves sitting for long perionds of time or if you spend most of you time indoors. There are certain walks you can take with a loved one, a friend, a dog or by yourself which ever helps you feel relaxed, remember the idea is to clear you mind so sometimes your partner or wife might not be the best choice less you get in an argument on the way.
Get creative
• The first thing you need to realise is that whatever creativeness you might have does not have to be a perfect work of art. I think we are all persons of many talents but are afraid to tap into it because we fear we are not good enough. Though it might not turn out to be a very constructive piece of work under the circumstance you might just find it to be.
A healthy body is a healthy mind
• The wrong thing to do when you feel stressed out is to go drinking and or smoking in excess which with no doudt puts pressure on the body’s organs. So what you are basically doing is adding more stress on the body which is what we are trying to avoid in the first place.Having a balanced diet and making sure your body gets enough fluids is important not only for a healthy body but a healthy mind. Dont just think healthy body think healthy mind aswell, if you dont thats when you hear of people eating well but it just doesnt seem to work for them.
Peace and quiet
• With family and kids this can be a very rare commodity but by all means do try to find the time when stress level are high the last thing you want is taking it out on someone else, something you mighy live to regret or even add on to your stress. Noise can add to stress especially that it can disturb the level of concetration so alwas try to find some quiet time for yourself. The gym might just not be the right place for you with poor concetration.
There you have it done without getting physical in the gym but of course we are all different individuals, what works for one might not for another when things get out of hand always consult the professionals such as your GP.
