Have you ever heard the expression "The EYES are the window to the soul? Or beauty is in the EYE of the beholder? These are great expressions and can be used for both the natural and spiritual aspect of the EYE. In this article I am going to explain how to create a great looking EYE with makeup and how to create a EYE that others will want to look at.
When someone sees you they talk to you the first place they look is in your EYES. Our EYES show expression, they can tell someone when you are sick or when you are sad, or when you are happy. It is all in the EYE.
Step one: of course is to begin with a clean face, use a cleanser that is suited for your skin type, DivaGlam Cosmetics has an excellent cleanser that is soy based and is great for most skin types.
Step two: Use a toner, a toner will remove the remaining traces of cleanser and prepare the skin for moisturizer. DivaGlam Cosmetics has a great soy based toner, very mild and can be used for most skin, dry, oily, and normal.
Step three: Moisturize, if oily use a moisturizer that will pull moisture to the skin not add oil. If dry use a heavier moisturizer to add more moisturizer and add a bit of extra oil
Now we can begin to create the EYES that can express who you are. We will begin with a basic eye technique that I teach everyone because it can be used with any and all colors of eye shadow. Lets start by picking a pallet of colors to make things easier for you. Get one that is already prepackaged with the colors that match. You will need a highlighter, a medium color and a dark color. These are all you need. So lets start with a pallet that has at least 3 colors. DivaGlam Cosmetics has pallets that are already packaged and ready for you to go.
When you look at your EYE the first thing is to take a base color, something neutral apply it all over the EYE, all the way up to the EYE brow. Next looking at your eye in the mirror take the lightest color and with a eyeshadow brush apply that color right under the eyebrow, blend with your ring finger. Next take the medium color and apply it across the bottom part of the eye right above the eyelashes again blending the color until you like it. The last step is to take the darkest color and apply it in the crease of the eye, if you don’t have a crease( i.e. Asian eyes) create one, apply in an arch like motion, blend. Now take a brush and blend all the colors until smooth and soft. The last step is apply mascara, two coats is all you need, both on top and bottom.
Your eyes are our greatest feature, we can say a whole lot with our eyes without ever having to say a word. Applying lipgloss or lipstick without doing your eyes leaves the face in an unfinished state and people tend to look all around when talking to you. But when you have great eyes they are transfixed on you and what you are saying. If you don’t believe me, try it and see!
Remember you know what you want to look like so please don’t be moved by trends and fads. This is a basic eye technique and it will never go out of style, kind of like Chanel Pearls. Let our eyes speak and see the world open up to you. Because truly "Beauty is in the EYE of the Beholder", what do you see?
