Green tea has bacteria fighting abilities that prevent tooth decay and can help prevent food poisoning. Some studies have linked green tea to weight loss due to the fact that it increases metabolism. Catechin, an ingredient in green tea appears to encourage your blood to fight off harmful microorganisms.
So far the only side effect discovered from drinking green tea is mild insomnia. Yet green tea contains less caffeine than coffee. So enjoy green tea as you would coffee, early in the day. But remember not to add too much sugar or cream or the health benefits will lesses as your waistline increases!
