WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP WE SHARE?
In the ocean of life that is before us, we can’t help but notice that some people, events, places seem to present themselves as if they are a part of us. Is your life a part of my world? Or is my life a part of your world?
What is the relationship we share?
Such was the question asked while walking with the teacher and myself. So what then could be the answer…
Let me just speak to what I share with you. A breath of fresh air, each moment that you are there.
How is it that before you, I could see you in prayer. Meditation upon one-ness, close-ness, being-ness.
A relationship is the word used to describe a correlation between one or more things to one or more other things. The thing could be an attitude, a
color, an emotion, a thought, a place, a person, any thing. Let us talk about it generally before talking specifically.
Opposites attract only because they are the continuation of the same motion. If you travel clockwise around a point and you are in front of another traveling in the same direction, could not your back be mistaken for the desire of the follower’s front?
Would then it be that if another is traveling in a counter-clockwise direction about a point in close proximity to you, could your front, in its attempt to
move forward appear to be in opposition to the other’s front trying to move forward?
The relation to object ‘A’ to object ‘B’ depends not only on object ‘A’ and object ‘B’, but on the environment in which object ‘A’ and object ‘B’ exist, the environment of the observer and the point of relation or point of interest in the relation.
Let me at this point introduce the sphere as a tool for illustration.
The sphere or marble has an infinite number of possible angles of incident upon its surface that another sphere could strike.
The relation between the two spheres is therefore infinite in its possibility.
Understanding the possibilities will allow an understanding of what exists.
Pick a subject:
Sexual Relationship
…The relation of my desire to be pleased to your desire to fulfill
…The relation of my willingness to speak of my desire to your listening
…The relation of my ability to describe my desire to your ability to understand it
…The relation of my ability to fulfill my desire to your ability to participate
Emotional Relationship
…The relation of my fear to your courage.
…The relation of my hope to your optimism
…The relation of my compassion to your empathy
…The relation of my empathy to your compassion
As we view the relationships, each side can have different weight or effect based solely upon the angle of incident. A straight across relationship is one in which both spheres of the individual realities exchange equally with each other. Resulting in the maximum exchange of energy, information, and substance for the spheres involved. If more than one sphere is a part of the equation, then the issues presented from the viewpoint of the object incident to the event will donate to the interaction only what is proportional to the event as it is approached from the particular spatial relationship of the objects in question.
Examining the relationship we share as Man and Woman in the typical Sexual Encounter.
I create in you an image of who I am and see who it is that is reflected back to me. I look at you and what do I see, but the image of simplicity.
