I live in Salt Lake City and I was an employee at a hotel downtown. One time I was out late on the town and I wanted to get a room instead of going home because it was so far and I had to work in the morning for my shift in the next few hours. I got my room on MAJOR discount due to me being an employee. For that night I felt like a king. I slept well and got to REALLY relax. After my shift I booked the room for the next three days for the weekend. I rented a car at the hotel which i got a deal off the rental due to my employment at the hotel. I went to Timanogas Caves, Party City, Thanks Giving Point and even as far as St. George. I dined at The New Yorker club and even seen a show for very affordable. And there were a lot FREE things to do too. Outdoor concerts, coffee shops in the city had live bands as well as museums. The entire weekend with rental, room, dining, gas and entertainment was a total of about $365.00. And it was like I had a real vacation. But, I never left home. And the entire weekend I never went to my apartment. I hear it is very common to take a "Staycation" where you live. Just think about it. People come to your state to vacation. So why can't you do the same?
