Is there anyone else out there that realizes that being a home owner is a complete contradiction in terms.

An American home owner is really just a care taker for the rich mans property. We have to maintain the property, we can be sued for injury on the property but we never own the property until the last payment is made. The lender swoops in about every 15 to 20 years and strips all the equity out of the home. I'm confused whats the since in owning a home?
