I have a huge data of my college projects which I would like to store remotely. Can anyone suggest any online backup service which can take care of my precious data? I am looking for an easy to use and affordable service. Of course security is my first concern.

Mozy is one of the newest and largest companies to come out lately offering online backup services.  They have a wide assortment of security and encryption features.

You can get a free account that limits you to 2GB of free backup storage.  Anymore than this will probably require their standard account which costs $5 a month.

There are plenty of other companies out there though that offer similiar services at comparable prices, including idrive, carbonite, and intronis.  I've read online reviews that recommend intronis as the best of the three for home users, and MozyPro for business users.

In addition to the online storage Anthony wrote about. It would probably be smart to get an 8 gb flash drive and store it all on there as well. With data like this you can never be too careful.

I also have a 1TB external hard drive to further back things up.  I've had my share of issues lately so I've found you cannot have too many safeguards.  I prefer the external HD to online back up primarily due to the slow rate of transfer for items I am backing up (I have over 30,000 travel photos - many of which are enormous in size and take too long to transfer).

There are many online backup services available on net nowadays for incremental backup. But I suggest before finalizing any backup service, go through the users comments for the service. Currently I am using BackupandShare.com for my pc backup and with them I am getting unlimited backup space and windows mobile backup solution too. You can now backup your all project documents / pictures / music / contacts on secured servers, and restore them safely.

No wonder they are the current topper in http://top10onlinebackup.com/
