The so call Feng Shui Bamboo, or Lucky Bamboo as they are commonly called, make great additions to any room. This is because they are living plants that will emit their own positive energy in whatever room they are place in.

From a Feng Shui perspective, the Bamboo are classified under the element of wood and water. Bamboo will bring about wood energy and represents growth and moving up. You will notice that the Bamboo leaves, when they are well taken care of, grow taller and taller. This is the same way wood energy moves. In addition to wood, the Bamboo must be growing in water. Water energy represents money and movement.

In terms of placement, they can basically go anywhere you like. There are not set rules in terms of the placement of bamboo. However, if you want to tap into the Annual Flying Star, which takes into account the type of energy in specific sectors each year, you can place them accordingly. So this year, 2009, you can place the bamboo in the #4 sector, which is the South sector this year. You can also place the bamboo, for this year, in the #1 sector, which is in Northwest. Both the #4 and #1 Annual Flying Star is associated with Wood (#4 star) and Water (#1 star).

Best of Luck to you.
