My top gift ideas for 2009 have been tried and true for the past three years. These gifts are still a wonderful surprise for most and have gone down in price. You can find great deals now on sites like Amazon, Overstock.com, and Best Buy to name a few.

I was doing some comparison shopping the other day and the completion is fierce. Wal-Mart is rolling out their steep price discounts right now. There is no need to wait for Christmas, as shoppers are coming in early to pick up those deals.

Wii Game Age: 5-50

The Wii game is still a number-one hit for all ages. They have games and gadgets for everyone in the house. The boys can play baseball while Mom may want to do some aerobics. This is truly a game for the whole family and the price for 2009 $199.00. This is down $50 from last year.

Portable Navigation Systems Age: 17 +

This is truly an affordable item. When the navigation systems first came out you could purchase them in the $500 range. Now you can find a great deal for these systems for under $200. This is a great gift idea for the direction challenged in your life. This is also a great gift for the new drivers in your home.

Flat Screen TV’s all ages

Wal-Mart is competing with the best on this. This is a great gift for anyone. They range in size average from 19 inches to 60 inches and beyond. This gift will surely put a smile on the face of the man in your life. Top it off with a personal remote and you won’t see him for a while. The average price this year for a flat screen 32 inch is under $400. Three years ago the price was almost $800.

iPods Age: 12+

This is the one gift I gave my daughter that I can say she uses all the time. She loves her iPod. IPods are great gifts for teens in your life. This item is still popular with them and even if you have already purchased the iPod you can order the gadgets to accessorize. The price this year ranges from $29-$250.

Twilight Series Age: Tweens-Teens

For the teen in your life, the movie”Twilight”, has just mesmerized them. There is a series of books that are available called the Twilight Saga. Priced very reasonably, the average price per book is about $9 for the set of four, $39 on Amazon. The next movie in the series “New Moon” is set to run in theatres near Thanksgiving Day.

Digital Photo Frames Age :18+

I got this last year for my college kids. I searched all over and never thought to check Wal-Mart. I found a photo frame with all the bells and whistles. It was a Toshiba and I paid under $40. Kodak has them as low at $29.
