The Efficient Kitchen: How to Organize Your Kitchen For Better Efficiency

Believe it or not, an unclean home can destroy your life! It can make you feel overwhelmed and depressed. Developing good clutter control habits will help to keep you from feeling depressed.

Keep the following tips in mind when making new daily habits. If you keep an homemaking journal then write these tips down and read them daily until this is a way of life for you.

First and foremost thing, don’t crowd your house with attractive materialistic house-hold things sold out in the market.. Before buying any house-hold furniture, table, chairs, or anything for that matter, think twice whether its really necessary or question yourself whether you can survive without it. Keep your house with less amount of things.. This way your house will look neat and spacious.

1. Don’t let piles build up. Throw away things, unwanted bills, papers, magazines when you are done with them.

2. Deal with the things as they come into the house. Toss the junk mail, file the bills, set the personal mail on your desk and read and respond as soon as possible.

3. Set times each day to walk around the house and put things into their correct place. Always have a place for all the items in your house.. So, make a spot for all items that you have. If the items are keepers then make sure you have a shelf or box to deal with each item. There will be no question as to where something goes if it every item has a predefined place.

4. Throw away anything that you really do not need and is not worth making a place for. Remember you can’t keep every piece of art work, or every issue of your favorite magazine, or every recipe that you print out. If it has value to you then make a file to keep the work and keep only the important ones. Buy few boxes to keep the magazines and the recipe printouts so that they don’t lie scattered across the home. Figure out the things you really want and give away the rest.

Cleaning a House in a cheap and Eco friendly way:

Cleaning the house is not high on the list of fun things to do, but it is one of life’s necessities. You can clean you house quickly, cheaply and be Eco friendly in the cleaning process by keeping a few simple things handy.

Baking soda is a cleaner that is cheap, Eco friendly, easy on your hands and cleans as well as more expensive abrasive cleaners and it leaves a fresh, clean scent behind. A box of baking soda in the refrigerator keeps it smelling fresh. A little baking soda sprinkled in the bottom of the trash can and in the kitchen sink drain quells odors in both places. Baking soda and a damp dish cloth will scrub and shine almost every surface in your kitchen or bathroom without any harsh chemicals.

Keep a box of baking soda in your bathroom for clean ups and for bathing. A little baking soda added to bath water relieves dry, itchy skin and soothes tired muscles.

Add baking soda to your wash cycle for smelly gym clothes or work clothes. Sprinkle some in shoes and diaper pails for a fresh odor eliminating scent. If you have pets that have the occasional accident on the carpet, sprinkle baking soda on the pet accident to absorb and deodorize before vacuuming.

Use dish cloths and dish towels instead of paper towels for more Eco friendly house cleaning. Keep a stack handy in the kitchen and bathroom to wipe up spills and for quick clean-ups.

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or comparable store brand item can handle everything from scuff marks to soap scum and is reusable. To clean house quickly, you need to keep your favorite tools of the trade handy. To be Eco friendly, those tools of the trade need to be reusable.
