Constipation: Is it a Serious Health Concern?

Constipation is not something we would consider as a polite topic of conversation. In fact many people are reluctant to even discuss this subject with their doctor. However this is not a topic that should be ignored. Why worry about such an unpleasant topic? Well, Your digestive system and it’s function effect your entire body. and the correct functioning of the Gut is very important to your health.

Prolonged or frequent bouts of constipation can have serious consequences. In fact in some cases it can even lead to death. Your body can become septic from the toxins that accumulate in your intestines. Those toxins can get into the blood stream and if not treated right away, you could die. Constipation is not a joke and should be taken seriously. If your Gut isn’t working correctly it can effect your entire well being.

Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. Almost everyone experiences constipation at some point in their life, and a poor diet typically is the cause. Most constipation is temporary and not serious although it can be quite painful.

If you are constipated It is often hard and difficult to move your bowels. You may have less then two or three bowel movements in a weak. Abdominal bloating and discomfort along with hard dry stool that is difficult to pass are also signs of constipation.

The best way to prevent constipation is by making some lifestyle changes.

Increasing fiber in your diet is really important to preventing this problem. eat fruits and vegetables along with whole grains to keep your digestive tract working well. Also be sure to drink plenty of water, at least six 8 ounce glasses each day. Exercise is also a must do. Even just a walk down the block will do wonders for your Gut and keep it working as it is designed to .

If you seem to suffer from constipation chronically, you should see your doctor. there may be a serious underlying problem and your doctor is the best person to determine if you need to have a check up.The next time you feel constipated try this old time remedy it works very well.

Add one to three tablespoons of honey to a warm glass of water and drink it.

Another tried and proven remedy is warm up a 4 ounce glass of prune juice and drink it.

These remedies have been doing the trick for centuries and have none of the unpleasant and often dangerous side effects of harsh laxatives.

 If you seem to suffer from constipation chronically, you should see your doctor. there may be a serious underlying problem and your doctor is the best person to determine if you need to have a check up.
