Look beyond the usual coffees and teas and warm up with these easy drink recipes. Whether you want to make a single cup for your own pleasure, or a huge pot to warm a chilly group, there’s a variety of tastes to fill your mug.
Capputeano
This creamy, spicy drink makes 2 servings, but it’s so good you just may drink it all yourself!
For 2 8oz.servings:
- 2 cups milk (not skim)
- 2-4 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cinnamon apple or cinnamon spice tea bags
In a small saucepan, heat the milk and sugar up to the boiling point. Remove from heat, add teabags. Cover and steep mixture for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags, pour into 2 mugs. Enjoy!
Hot Spiced Lemon Tea
For a soothing pick me up, this hot drink hits the spot. Also great for a sore or scratchy throat.
For 1 8oz. serving:
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. lemonade powder mix
- 1 tsp. unsweetened instant tea
- 1/4 tsp. each, ginger, allspice, cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
Measure all ingredients into serving mug, mix well. Add boiling water, stir until mixed.
Mulled Spice Mix
Use this quick mix to spice up any of the following drinks- apple juice or cider, cranberry juice, white zinfandel, red wine.
For each 8 oz. serving:
- 1 tsp. lemonade powder mix
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. each cinnamon and nutmeg
Measure ingredients into serving mug, mix well. Add heated juice, cider, or wine. Stir to blend, enjoy!
Cinnamon, Raspberry, or Orange Cocoa
Enhance your cocoa-drinking experience by using this quick mix.
For each 8 oz. serving:
- 1 Tbsp. chocolate powdered drink mix
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla-flavored coffee creamer
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon OR 1/2 tsp. raspberry gelatin powder OR 1/2 tsp. orange gelatin powder
Mix all ingredients in serving mug. Add 8 oz. boiling water, stir to mix. For a richer, creamier cocoa, heat 8 oz. milk instead of water. Make a different flavor for each of your guests or family members as a surprise treat!
