Would you like to know what is thinking about you right now?
God makes it very obvious His thoughts He thinks towards you. In Jeremiah 29:11 it says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope" (NKJV) He is thinking thoughts of peace to give you a hope and a future. In fact, God’s thoughts are unlimited. Take a look at Psalms 40:5, "Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered".
God is a good God. He loves, accepts and forgives you of your sins. God loves you not based on what you do. He loves you because He is love. His standard for love is really based on who you are. One thing you cannot change is who you are. If God was going to love us according to a "performance standard" we would all fail. The good news is He loves you just as you are. He does not require you to change for Him to love you.
You are also already accepted by God. Ephesians 1:6 says He has made you accepted in the Beloved. When I was growing up I tried so hard to get people to like me and accept me. Several years ago I discovered I was already accepted and was wasting my time trying to get what I already had from God. Once you understand how much God accepts you it will free you from the performance trap. He will not accept you according to your performance because He made you accepted. God’s thoughts toward you are not only of peace but of love and acceptance.
One of the greatest revelation you will ever receive is knowing the truth about forgiveness. God has completely forgiven you of all your past, present and future sins. This is God’s perspective of your sins: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” (Hebrews 8:12 NKJV) Why does God choose not to remember your sins anymore? Its because they have been paid for by His Son Jesus with His blood on the cross. All of your sins have been paid for when Jesus went to Hell for you so you don’t have to go there. The good news is by God’s grace you have been pardoned from the penalty of your sin even though you did not deserve it. Grace is offering the free gift of forgiveness, salvation and eternal life when you did not earn it.
Why do you need to receive forgiveness of your sins? If you do not receive forgiveness for your sins then you will go to Hell when you die. How can that be if my sins are already paid for by Jesus? It is part of your inheritance and like any inheritance you have to take possession of what rightfully belongs to you. Salvation is yours but you need to claim it. What do you need to be saved from? The penalty for your sins is Hell and eternal damnation, but its already been purchased with the blood of Jesus. If you do not claim salvation and forgiveness you will not spend eternity in Heaven with God.
Ask yourself this question: "If I would die tonight would I end up in Heaven or Hell"? If you believe you will go to Heaven because you are a good person, you are deceiving yourself. Jesus said in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". Believing you are going to get to Heaven without Jesus is a lie. The only way you are going to receive eternal life is by asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. No Jesus, no Heaven for you. You will not get to Heaven any other way.
If you are not 100% sure you are going to Heaven, then you must understand that today you must make a choice. In 2 Corinthians 6:2 it says, "…Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation". (Emphasis added) Today is your day to accept the free gift of forgiveness, salvation and eternal life. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. We only live one day at a time. We cannot live two days at one time. Now is the time you need to come to God and receive His forgiveness of your sins. Turn away from your sins and turn to God. Just open up your heart to Him. He is waiting for you right now. Remember, the thoughts He is thinking of you are thoughts of peace, love, acceptance and forgiveness. You are one prayer away from receiving what God has freely given you.
