What is the Law of Attraction’s Secret?
If you believe in an ultimate power, a single source of all creation, no matter what name you give it, you have undoubtedly prayed to it, beseeching it to provide for a need, cure an illness of yours or some beloved’s and perhaps even made promises to it in exchange for your desire.
The idea behind both the Law of Attraction and the Secret, is not really anything new. The teaching that “thoughts become things” has been around for a while now, but we are finally beginning to recognize it as a Universal Truth. Manifesting your deepest desires is only a thought away.
An element of faith comes into play when setting out to co-create some wonder in your life. The faith I refer to is actually a faith and belief in yourself! If you do not truly believe you are deserving of all that is good, of prosperity, abundance, perfect health, and whatever else you can think of, you more than likely will concentrate on all the reasons you should NOT have what you desire, instead of drawing that very wish into your reality.
It was Jesus who said both “ask and you shall receive” and “before you ask, God already knows.” What if the Creator of all that is knows, because your thoughts and desires have already reached the Source. As soon as you have a thought the Universe goes into action to bring to manifestation exactly what you are thinking. Perhaps that is where the saying “Be careful what you ask for (think about)” comes from. If you are intending to bring a new job into your life, for instance, but you are not sure you are ready for more responsibility, don’t know exactly what you want to do, or you are not fully prepared to leave your current position; chances are good, those thoughts will be stronger. Because the Universe must act on your request, you stay miserably put in your current position. If however, you not only are certain you are ready to move but you take time to truly project out exactly what you want, it will and must be drawn to you.
I had a dear friend, ready to take on her role in an entirely new career was worried about how to begin to even look. She knew what she was able to do at that point in the career and at my suggestion wrote down on a piece of paper exactly what she wanted in the job. I told her to detail as much as she could including, distance from her house, what the office looked like, what her co-workers were like, her new boss, and HOW MUCH MONEY had she been offered. I then suggested she add at the bottom of the page: “This or something better.” I suggested she add this as sometimes the Universe intends something even better for us that we have not even considered. Leaving that possibility open would be vital. I told her to tape her “job description “ to her bathroom mirror; a place she would see it each morning and remember what she was co-creating for herself. Less than two weeks later she called to say she had been offered a job, one mile from her home, at the rate of pay she wanted, and she said “You won’t believe this but the office was exactly as I described, down to the number of people I share it with!”
The Law of Attraction is the Universal response to our desires. More importantly it is the response to what THINK, This includes how we speak about things. If we think “I can’t afford that” we are calling forth lack and limitation into our existence. I have made a point of telling my children, “Let’s get it next time!” or “I am thinking that should go on the Christmas list!” (great time of year to start that!) . In this way, I do not allow for the possibility that I will have not have enough to make the purchase, I call forth instead the possibility that I will be able to afford the item because I can afford it now, but choose to buy it later.
Watch your thoughts and words over the next several days. How often are they negative? Then choose just one small something you would like to create in your world. Write down the details of it stating it all as if it has already happened:
“I have a brand new coffee pot. It is a (name a brand ya like or want). It is black and has an automatic time so that my coffee is ready for me every morning.”
Silly? Not at all. And just see what shows up in your world!
