Where is God When Bad Things Happen?

RELATED ARTICLES
Do Bad things happen because God causes or allows them?
When terrible things happen, where did God go?
God is not involved with good and bad occurrences

Many people struggle with this same issue, even many who are strong in faith, know scripture or have seen God do mighty things.  Evil, miser, pain and suffering are some of the main things that can be so inconceivable and overwhelming.   There is an enemy called, Satan, Lucifer, the Devil, deceiver and father of lies.  Sooner or later, every child has to grow up and experience how ugly, foul and evil he is and that there are consequences, not only for us, but also for our family and others sometimes for no apparent reason.  If this makes you sad, angry or agitated, you should be, but not at God, it should be at the true enemy: the Devil.  He is a dirty coward.  He will make your neighbors sin in order to have a drive by shooting to affect someone in your household who has nothing to do with it.  Or, have a wife get hooked on drugs to brake up a happy marriage.  He also has demon spirits which are behind things such as rape, incest, accidents, family and other violence and even death.  In addition, misery is also his idea.  This includes things such as teething, which is so painful for children or learning to ride a bike with all the falling and skinned knees.

You may wonder why God does not intervene immediately.  Sometimes He does.  But if a child is told to stay in the yard and not go out into the street or a car may hit them, and they choose to and get injured, that parent is going to be right by their side, talking to them, holding them, making critical decisions concerning their care, calling 911 and seeking whatever other help to aid in the child’s recovery.  They will be talking to them, finding ways to make things easier and crying when they cry, holding them when possible.  A good parent will be there whether the child is conscious or aware enough to know they are there or not.  There are few things that could tear them away.

God is there, too.  Sometimes we can see it and other times it may be difficult.  He made us as feeling individuals.  Believe it or not, when we hurt He also hurts.  He never expects us to ignore those feelings or go through them alone.  He aches to help us in these times and we can certainly get acquainted with Him by sharing anger, bitterness, hurt, worry etc. with Him because He aches to help us through them.  You can even ask Him, “Where are YOU!!!!” if you want to.  Don’t be afraid to share or ask Him anything.  He will surely answer.

Did you see the movie, The Passion of The Christ?  I recommend it if you didn’t.  It tells the story of Jesus dying for us and graphically lets us see how badly they beat him, continuously and cruelly.  It is hard to imagine that God was there then.  However this was His plan to restore to us a life without all of the ugly things that are here now that were not there in the beginning.  Soon this world will end and those of us who have chosen to let Jesus help us will be taken by God to a new paradise without all of these ugly things.  Until then, He will be right by our side, many times taking the blows for us or carrying us.

This is a really good article. Reminding me of The Passion of Christ, I think of how God tells us 'He is made strong in our weaknesses." And through our weaknesses, we are made strong in Him. Jesus, through His suffering, received God's Glory in Heaven and on earth. Eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard what God has ready for those who believe in Him.
