Many Americans know their names and even fewer know what their positions are in the United States Cabinet. Cabinet officers are nominated by the President and then presented to the Senate for confirmation and thus are rarely questioned by the American public. Since Americans more concerned with outward appearance and charisma than actual performance here are some facts to help out with their approval.
Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense. Wikipedia defines his title as "The role of the Secretary of Defense is to be the principal defense policy advisor to the President and is responsible for the formulation of general defense…"
Robert Gates is the man responsible for the April 27th Air Force One photo op gone bad. He quickly found a scapegoat in Louis Caldera who soon after resigned. Problem solved and cleanly swept under the rug. Does the American public really believe that the man responsible for the general defense of America was unaware of a low Air Fore One flyover? If his primary role is to keep the President informed of defense policy ,why was President Obama unaware of the situation?
Timothy Geithner, Secretary of The Treasury. The Us Department of The Treasury reads"The Secretary is responsible for formulating and recommending domestic and international financial, economic, and TAX POLICY". During a 2006 tax audit Geithner was assessed penalties of $14,847 for self employment taxes during 2003 and 2004. It was also discovered that he had owed self-employment taxes for 2001 and 2002 but the statute of limitations had expired. Yes he is the man Barack Obama chose to be in charge of TAX POLICY and he forgot to pay his taxes.By definition this makes him either incapable of performing his job due to complete incompetence, or a tax cheat.
Eric Holder, United States Attorney General. The position of Attorney General is considered to be the chief lawyer is the United Stated government responsible for running the department of justice. Holder was accused of withholding a covering up evidence and information in the 1999 Waco standoff. He was responsible for removing U.S. Attorney James W. Blagg from his position in the case after Blagg publicly raised questions regarding the Waco siege. Holder was also responsible for the pardon of Marc Rich who long list of crimes included tax evasion in the amount of $48 million. By the was Marc Rich’s wife was a proud supporter of the democratic party donating over $1 million. Dick Morris and Eileen McGann wrote on townhall.com that "A congressional committee reported that Holder was a’ willing participant in the plan to keep the Justice Department from knowing about and opposing’ the Rich pardon."
Ken Salazar, Secretary of The Interior. Claims to be a democrat but votes and supports bills like a conservative. His main mistake was voting in favor of the stimulus bill.
