I’ve had some homeowners, that have enlisted my services to stage their home, despite what their Realtors have told them. They have said the agents responses were ”lets put it on the market for a while and see what happens”, “the water view will sell this place”, “let’s offer a buyer’s agent incentive”, needless to say these sellers homes had sat on the market for months, with no offers.
One homeowner said when an agent told her “the view would sell this place”, she didn’t do anything to the property. Nine months later, she said “guess what, my water view is not selling this place.” She told her agent she was going to call a home stager and get a second opinion. I went in did a consultation and gave her recommendations. She did everything on the list, and I brought in some furniture and accessories and defined her space. Two days later she called and said she had an offer, she was thrilled. She couldn’t believe she had paid the mortgage for nine months, with no offers, and after having her house staged received an offer so quick.
Homeowners are taking matters into their own hands, and getting their houses staged, because of the lack of interest from potential buyers, in this highly competitive market. In each case I’ve had this happen, and then staged them, the owners have said for the first time they didn’t have negative comments from buyers’, which was all they had been receiving before. They also had repeat showings, and offers.
Home staging is not only beneficial for the home seller but the real estate agent as well.
If it shows better, and sells faster, it is a win-win for everyone involved.
