What Women Want for Christmas

Ahh, it’s that time of year again. The temperatures are getting colder, holidays are getting nearer, and you’re realizing you have a megalist of names on your Santa list. The days of having elves create perfectly wrapped presents are long gone but that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to break the bank in order to give a great gift. Here are some great gifts for under 20 dollars.

Have a hard working lady in your life that deserves a break? Whether it’s your mom, sister, or best friend you can never go wrong with Burt’s Bees Healthy Hands, Hand Repair Kit a mere $12.99. Also check out local stores or the mall that may have gift packages wrapped up for this time of year that include spa essentials. If you want a more pampered gift call your local salons and see if they have any specials for the holiday season. You may be able to score discounts if you frequent a salon. Pedicure, manicure, massage, regardless most ladies love receiving a little TLC…especially in the form of a gift.

Need to get a gift for a college student or young adult? You can never go wrong with DVD’s, CD’s, or anything in the form of a gift certificate. Even gift certificates from coffee shops, McDonalds, and movie theatres are greatly appreciated when you’re young and broke. Know someone who has an MP3 player? Get them some music on iTunes.

Have any wine lovers on your list? Check out either a local winery or wine store within your community. Some local places can create your very own personalized wine bottle including family pictures and dates of celebration from anywhere between $10-$20.  Get a picture of you and old Aunt Helen on a nice bottle of Merlot and she’ll remember it for years.

You know the feeling when you want to get something for someone but they just seem to have everything? Good presents for parents, mom or dad, is a subscription to their favorite magazine if they don’t already have one. Subscriptions usually run $20 and less but check out deals online, sometimes subscribing on the magazine’s webpage can save money…and a postage stamp!

If you’re really trying to save a buck but happen to be a great baker why not find a great recipe and give a basket of goodies? Check out some great cookie recipes at All Recipes and find some fun and yummy holiday gifts to give.

Other great but cost effective ideas:

Picture frames

Scented candles

Board games

Photo album (you can buy one cheap at places like Target & Walmart then fill it up with all your favorite photos of you and that special someone of all of your favorite memories)

Books (coffee-table, fiction, or a genre you know your reader enjoys) Also you can pair this up with a scented candle or spa kit.
